Teaching and learning become exceptionally natural and collaborative experiences with the SMART Board™ 800 series interactive whiteboard. It enables two users to instantly and easily work anywhere on its surface at the same time, so lessons are more hands-on and interactive. Feature availability: The SMART Board 800 series interactive whiteboard supports multiuser writing and common multitouch gestures currently recognised in Microsoft Windows 7 and Mac Snow Leopard operating systems. SMART Notebook collaborative learning software will support certain features, such as freestyle interaction, touch gestures and full object awareness, upon the release of updated software (SMART Notebook 10.7 software), expected by March 2011. Multitouch experience Two users can simultaneously write, perform mouse functions, erase, and manipulate and move objects on the interactive whiteboard surface – no special tools are required. Freestyle interaction* The system enables two users to instantly start working together without having to switch into a separate multiuser mode or work in a confined area. And each user can individually complete actions, like writing in digital ink or moving objects with their fingers. Object awareness The 800 series uses DViT (Digital Vision Touch) technology to identify when a user switches between a finger, pen and eraser. A user can also write with a pen, erase with a palm and move objects with a finger, without having to press buttons, access on-screen menus or replace tools in the Pen Tray. Touch gestures* Use simple, intuitive hand and finger gestures to toss, rotate or zoom in on objects and interact within SMART Notebook software. The 800 series has built-in support for Windows 7 and Snow Leopard. SMART Notebook software SMART Notebook sets the standard for creating, delivering and managing interactive lessons within a single application. It puts all your instructional materials at your fingertips and allows you to save any notes or content that you write during the lesson to share with students later on. A powerful and easy-to-use application, SMART Notebook software enables you to readily deliver interactive lessons that keep your students engaged and interested. Multiuser Pen Tray Pick up one of the pens or the eraser and the Pen Tray automatically detects which tool you’ve selected. Buttons on the Pen Tray select the colour and activate the On-Screen Keyboard, right-click and help functions. Modular design The Pen Tray includes two wings on the side that allow you to add accessories, such as SMART projector controls. Lockable pen option Hold down a pen colour button on the Pen Tray until the light flashes, and the lockable pen option will lock the interactive whiteboard into pen mode, so you can use any device and it will act as a pen. Early years education students and students with additional learning needs can use objects, such as tennis balls, to write on the surface. SMART Ink Discover a responsive and accurate writing experience with SMART Ink. It smoothes out the appearance of the digital ink, which improves the legibility of your handwriting as you write over applications, websites and videos. The ink becomes an object that you can move and manipulate. Save function Capture your work to SMART Notebook collaborative learning software as a screen shot that you can edit, or save your notes directly into several software applications, including Microsoft Windows versions of PowerPoint, Word and Excel, as well as AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat. Durable surface The 800 series has a low-gloss surface that is optimised for projection. The surface is compatible with dry-wipe markers and is easily cleaned. Widescreen interactive whiteboard option Enjoy more room to work. The wide-format 885 model gives you 20% more workspace than a standard interactive whiteboard – ideal for classrooms that use widescreen laptops and monitors. Option to add sound Add SMART Audio classroom amplification system or USB speakers to turn the 800 series into a complete multimedia centre. Warranty Get a 3-year warranty on the SMART UX60 projector. The SMART Board interactive whiteboard has a 5-year warranty upon product registration. * Feature will be supported in SMART Notebook software upon release of updated software (Notebook 10.7), expected by March 2011.
